North West Migrants Forum
North West Migrants Forum (NWMF) works with vulnerable migrants and refugees to promote equality, diversity and integration in the Derry/Londonderry area of Northern Ireland. It provides frontline support and services to disadvantaged migrants and refugees to relieve need, hardship and distress as well as ensure equal distribution of services to this vulnerable group of people. NWMF is the only dedicated migrant’s organisation that responds directly to the needs of migrant workers, refugees and asylum seekers by providing them with welfare support, information and advice in the North West of Northern Ireland. Activities delivered include but not limited to; immigration advice and welfare support, Intercultural Youth Intervention, English Language Support, Youth and Intergeneration Residentials, Intercultural Dialogue workshops in schools + community, Personal and professional development training, Active Citizens Leadership Development to promote BME active citizenship, Discussion and debates on immigration and integration, Family Fun Days and Friendship Club to enhance social connectivity between new comer and existing communities.
NWMF provides information, advice and welfare support service, as well as provide direct and practical support to migrant workers and refugees who will also be hard hit by the COVID 19 coronavirus crisis. Many migrant workers, refugees, asylum seekers and their families in the Derry/Londonderry area rely on NWMF for basic information, support and advice. Our clientele are people who face difficulties in communicating using English language, have no extended families and many have no recourse to public funds due to their immigration status. Many of them depend on their employment to feed their families. NWMF are here throughout this crisis to offer support, guidence, information,advice and welfare support, relieve hardship and distress.
